The paving has been finished at the house! It's annoying that the driveway is incomplete though. The builders have told me that they are only given a certain amount of pavers and there were not enough to take it to the kerb. There were, however, a whole lot of pavers that were chipped or broken that they couldn't use. I don't understand why these can't be swapped for good ones. Instead, they are sitting in my garage. I'm sure I can find a use for them. I don't understand why they put the mauve brick border across the length of the driveway. It would look better just running along either side. Hmm...
The paving the alfresco area has been done too.
The doors to the garage have been painted but they are the wrong colour! The painters have painted them in the same colour as the rendering. I actually selected a light cream/brown colour to match the brickwork. These will have to be repainted.
What is going on???
ReplyDeleteIt's common knowledge that you order an extra 10-15% to the number of pavers you actually need to cover the actual area to allow for chips, breakages, cuts, damages in transit, etc. Bloody Amateurs!! BGC make their own pavers anyway ... what cheap-skates!!
@ doors ... I'm guessing they never learnt to read at school ... poor souls. They should just use 'colour' pictures instead of words then. ;P

Maybe the painters thought they'd try to colour coordinate my doors with the paving. I have to admit...it didn't look bad but I thought if I have to pay to finish my driveway then they should repaint my doors.
